From this lesson we will learn how to locate the main idea of a paragraph or a reading. For example this idea is sometimes located inside the paragraph and is easy to find, but sometimes we know the subject of reading, but we can not locate the idea within a paragraph.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Go to this link, http://www.beaconlearningcenter.com/WebLessons/DidIRead/info01.htm and and read about Carson's problems when reading.
2. Read about Explicit and Implicit information.
3. As you read, work actively all the questions they ask you about the reading.
4. When you have finished, go to read about the body system you most like.
The human heart is the main organ of the circulatory system.
The heart is really a muscle. It is found a little to the
left of the middle of your chest. It is about the size of your
fist. The heart circulates blood, providing the body cells
with the oxygen and food they need. It also carries away the
waste that cells produce.
The heart is like a pump that circulates blood throughout the
body. The right side of the heart receives oxygen-poor
blood from the cells of the body. From there, the blood is
pumped to the lungs where oxygen is added. The left side of
the heart receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs.
Then, it sends this blood to all the cells of the body. The adult heart pumps
about 70 times a minute.
